WAFID Medical Test in India: What to Expect

A practical walkthrough of medical day for family residence visa and work visa applicants — what happens at the centre, what to carry, how long it can take, the medical fee and what to do after your result is updated.

What happens at the medical center

After your WAFID appointment is booked, visit the assigned medical center with the required documents. The medical process is usually straightforward, but queues and internal center workflow can make the visit longer than expected.

Best time to visit

Centre timing

Around 9:30 AM

Many centres begin around this time, but the actual workflow and queue can vary.

Practical arrival

10–11 AM

Based on applicant experience, arriving around 10–11 AM can sometimes avoid the earliest rush.

Plan your day

Allow 3–4 hours

Registration, waiting and internal processing can take much longer than the tests themselves.

Medical test sequence

  1. Registration and document verification.
  2. Blood test.
  3. Urine test.
  4. Chest X-ray.
  5. Doctor consultation.
  6. Result update and vaccination if declared fit, where applicable.

How long it takes

The actual tests may not take very long, but the full visit can easily take 3 to 4 hours because of registration, waiting time and center workflow.

Result update

The medical centre updates your result in the WAFID system after processing. Use the official WAFID medical-status page to check whether your result has been marked FIT. Even after FIT appears online, you may still need to collect or obtain the required medical report from the centre before moving to the next stage.

Applicant experience

A visit starting around 10:30 AM and finishing around 2–3 PM can be realistic when registration and queues are included. This is practical applicant experience, not a fixed centre timetable.
